During Ms. Kurlander's tenure, the All Stars' annual budget has grown from $200,000 to over $5 million, all from private funding sources. Her President's Committee, consisting of over 500 supporters (each of whom contributes between $1,000 and $50,000 annually), also functions as an advisory body.

For the 2005-2006 season, she co-directed the musical Sally and Tom (The American Way), and directed the avant-garde play, Heiner Müller: A Man Without A Behind. This past Spring she starred as Susan B. Anthony in Backstage: A Love-Hate Relationship of the Women’s Movement and will be performing this summer with Castillo’s improvisational comedy troupe in This Is Your Ridiculous Life.

Partnering with retired prima ballerina Susan Jaffe, Ms. Kurlander has established the All Stars Artist Committee whose members include: actor Charles S. Dutton, choreographer/dancer Bill T. Jones, dancer Desmond Richardson, dancer/actor Hinton Battle, director Robert Wilson and actor/singer Donna Murphy, among many others.

Ms. Kurlander holds a BA in theater and business from SUNY Empire State. She received her formal training in acting from William Esper, and has studied voice, ballet and modern dance.
