GOAL Summer Interns Meet Thousands of New All Stars Friends Around the Country

This summer, the All Stars Project's GOAL (Get Organized and Lead) Interns took to the streets of New York, New Jersey, and San Francisco to bring people into the All Stars Project community across the country! Over the course of the seven week program, the teams succeeded both in sponsoring another 650 young people to participate in the All Stars Project's after-school development opportunities as well as introducing 2,000 new friends to the All Stars Community!

Our GOAL interns included 35 college interns from around the United States-from San Francisco to Atlanta, from Connecticut to Illinois, from Colorado to Pennsylvania. This summer, the team took to the streets of Chicago, New York, New Jersey, and the San Francisco Bay Area, and spread the word about the All Stars Project, to meet new donors, and to invite people to become involved in the All Stars community.

For five years, the All Stars has hosted this GOAL Internship Program for college students to be trained in our hallmark model of community organizing and fundraising. The interns received training in our group tabling fundraising model and also participated in seminars with leaders of the All Stars Project and the business community; learned about philanthropy, the arts, and the nonprofit sector; and created and developed their own projects within the organization.

Our GOAL interns were given the opportunity to become leaders and community organizers, taking youth empowerment to a new level. Many of them came to the All Stars because they wanted to find a way to change the world; and through their internship program, they gained hands-on experience that gave them a chance to do just that.

The All Stars Project also ran its first Activists for Social Development Fellowship Program for three recent college graduates with an interest in nonprofits and development.  They joined GOAL teams on the streets; learned donor cultivation skills, and became members of the development department.
Join us as we congratulate the 2010 GOAL Interns!

Make a donation and be a part of the movement and help provide young people with life-changing opportunities!
