All Stars Talent Show Network holds City Wide Finale Show

The All Stars Talent Show Network held its City Wide Finale Show on Saturday, December 5 at Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn.  Over 100 young performers, all 1st place winners in earlier shows of the year returned to compete for the Grand Prize trophy and $1000.  Performers from all over New York City as well as Binghamton and Syracuse, NY gave creative and energetic performances. The themes crossed generations and styles. Transforming the stage were flashes of a Frankie Lymon 50's sock hop, a Michael Jackson video montage, and even a bit of African dance all with a hip-hop flair. All of the performers walked away with trophies, but it was Da New Breed, a 16-person dance group, whose Bollywood themed hip-hop dance led them to win the Grand Prize. Their manager, Arturo Lyons, is a 15-year All Stars alumni performer who also helped create the music CDs for many of the other acts.

In true All Stars fashion, all the performers enthusiastically supported one another leading the way for the  500 audience members in the auditorium to follow.

A group of volunteers, including young people and adults from the Brownsville community, alumni and current students of the Development School for Youth and Youth Onstage!, and volunteers from the All Stars Talented Volunteer department all helped make the event a success.

Many of the performers can be seen next in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration at All Stars Project on Monday, January 18th!
