This summer All Stars Project president and CEO Gabrielle L. Kurlander led her month-long advanced program "The Art of Painting the World in Different Colors."  Twenty young adults ages 17 - 25 from around the City have worked closely with Ms. Kurlander and have had world-class developmental experiences designed to prepare them to be successful in our diverse and demanding world, to develop a worldly persona, and to perform wherever life takes them.

The students traveled to Broadway to see the hit musical show FELA! and then had an opportunity to meet Producer & Co-Conceiver Stephen Hendel.  They visited the Watermill Center in the Hamptons created by world-renowned artist Robert Wilson and had the opportunity to spend time talking with him.  They also visited with senior executives including Craig Shapiro, Managing Director at Barclays Capital and Paul Guyardo, EVP, Sales & Chief Marketing Office at DIRECTV.  They lunched at the Princeton Club with Barry Friedberg, President and CEO, Friedberg Milstein where he led his workshop "Four Decades on Wall Street."  The students also visited with Elinor Tatum, Publisher and Editor in Chief of the New York Amsterdam News and with executives and reporters at The New York Times

"The Art of Painting the World in Different Colors has been such a blessing upon my life.  I can honestly say that Gabrielle Kurlander is one of the nicest people that I have ever known. This program has opened up a whole new world for me and motivates me to want to be the best that I can be at everything I do.  It has given me the confidence to know that I can accomplish anything that I put my mind to.  All of the diverse and successful people I have spoken to through this program have shown me that anything is possible."

"The program allowed me to gain exposure to worlds that I have had preconceived notions and worlds that I had no idea existed. In experiencing the different workshops I was motivated to reach my dreams. The outing that appealed to me the most was Watermill Center. I felt as though I was in a familiar place, despite the fact I was never there. I marveled at the fact that it was not like a traditional museum in that you can touch and experience the art to its fullest extent. I enjoyed the brief moment that we met Robert Wilson, and the way he explained what he did and how he described the architecture of his complex. Overall, it was an inspiring trip because I felt that I was walking and breathing my passion, art."

"All Stars Project has reinforced the fact that we don't only grow for ourselves but we grow to help those around us to achieve greater than we have. Having the opportunity to go to the Princeton Club and to speak to Barry Friedberg was great because I learned that he came from a humble background and he saw that every challenge could be met."

Gary Allsbrook, 21, Wakefield, Bronx
