All Stars Project youth leader Crystal Ferguson has been selected for the prestigious Winter/Spring 2010 White House Internship program. She is interning in the office of Presidential Correspondence. See John Jay press announcement. Crystal, 20 years old, grew up in East New York, Brooklyn. She is a graduate of the Fall, 2007 class of the Joseph A. Forgione Development School for Youth (DSY) and did her internship at Health Plus in the summer of 2008. She was honored, along with nine other young people, with the 2009 Young Leader for Change Award. At John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Crystal is a two-sport student athlete --she's on the women's basketball and cross country teams.

Crystal's background and experience have set her up perfectly for this opportunity. At John Jay she is a Deviant Behavior and Social Control major. Her career ambition is to be an attorney.

Crystal is a dynamic spokesperson for the All Stars. At the All Stars 2009 Annual Gala at Lincoln Center, she not only hosted a table of business leaders and donors, but she took to the stage and gave a passionate and moving statement to the 400 plus audience about the impact being a part of the All Stars has had on her and the importance of continuing to provide other young people with the same opportunity. See YouTube video below of Crystal appearing with James Turley, Chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young and Steve Alesio, Chairman and CEO, Dun & Bradstreet.

Congratulations to Crystal!
