All Stars Talent Show Growing in New Jersey

The All Stars Talent Show Network in New Jersey is expanding and growing.  On July 29th, we produced a successful event for the first time at the Montclair Art Museum.  Young people from Newark, East Orange, Montclair, Irvington, and Jersey City came out to participate and presented with a show of 18 acts where they performed Rap, Dance, Vocal, Poetry, and Instrumental creations.
In addition to the youth who performed on stage, there were 25 youth producers volunteering in

various roles sharing their performance skills in registration, box office, sound engineering, stage managing, ushering and so much more.  "It is a breakthrough for a lot of young people in New Jersey who normally stay in their neighborhoods the majority of the time," says Nichelle Brown, Sr. Program Manager of the All Stars Project of New Jersey, All Stars Talent Show Network.
The young people came out to the Montclair event and expressed how great it felt to meet youth from other areas and to create something new with them ending in powerful skits about their dreams of improving their environment. Their performances spoke to creating peace in their neighborhoods where they experience so much violence and doing away with bullying at school.  They encouraged one another to perform the roles of new beginnings.  For more information about our next talent show, please call Nichelle Brown at 973-622-5506 Ext. 302 or nbrown@allstars.org.
