The Bay Area All Stars is sponsored by the Bay Area Center for Independent Culture (BACIC), a community-based, independently funded production company, which promotes human development through performance. The Bay Area All Stars has just completed its second year of producing auditions, performance workshops and talent shows in Oakland, and on February 21, 2004, held its first workshop at the Bayview Academy in Bayview/Hunter's Point, San Francisco. Talented Youth win Big!

Bay Area All Stars will hold its next audition and performance workshop on March 6 and next talent show on March 27th, both at Oakland Technical High School. Volunteers of all ages are actively involved in every aspect of running the program, from raising funds to conducting youth outreach to making phone calls. Volunteer orientations for new volunteers are held every month in Oakland and San Francisco.

Developing Community Theater
Since 1997, BACIC has produced the Development Community Theater (DCT), which creates socially relevant theater, play readings and cultural events which are both entertaining and thought provoking.
