• The All Stars Talent Show at Oakland Technical High
School on March 27th was a huge success! There were 31 acts,
74 performers, 330 audience members and 48 volunteers. The
show included a four-piece band with four vocalists, which
put the All Stars’ sound team to the test! We showed
two videos during the program, "The Promise of Play"
and the promotional short for All Stars' founder Fred Newman's
Annual Lecture at Town Hall, "Feeling Powerless."

• A full-page story on the Bay Area All Stars recently
appeared in MEENA (Minority Education and Empowerment News
Association) about the Bay Area All Stars.
• All Stars Youth and Community Outreach Coordinator,
Dr. Elouise Joseph, All Stars MC A'Dunyae Lee and All Stars
volunteer Linda Lee attended the African American Family Values
Awards at the Black Repertory Theatre in Berkeley. A'Dunyae
participated as a member of the post-show panel discussion.
• The Volunteer Department hosted its third fundraising
dinner, "Community Chefs Salute the All Stars,"
featuring Moroccan cuisine. 23 people attended and $880 was
raised. The Volunteer Department is working with the Fundraising
Team to hold a monthly phone-a-thon where volunteers join
more seasoned fundraisers calling donors with updates and
asking for their continued financial support. The most recent
phone-a-thon was held on April 21st and included two new volunteers.
It was huge success!
