The talented cast was a mix of professional actors (Laylah Muran, Lauren Farah and Violet Ferrente) and All Stars volunteers (Elouise Joseph, A'Dunyae Lee, Dave Mollo, Kai King and Audrey Kath).

On Saturday, July 16, Developing Community Theatre (DCT), the theatre project of the Bay Area Center for Independent Culture (BACIC), staged a beautifully nuanced reading of Fred Newman's play, Mr. Hirsch Died Yesterday, at CounterPULSE, a new performance space in San Francisco's Mission district. A diverse audience warmly received Mr. Hirsch, a play that explores the emotional traps of identity. The reading was directed by DCT's Artistic Director, Joyce Dattner and Bay Area All Stars volunteer Brian Coleman.

Fall Dinner Benefit to be held October 5th

BACIC's third annual fall benefit dinner, "A New Partnership for Youth" will be held on October 5. The benefit will honor Jim Greene, the Vice President of Product Development at Shaklee Corporation, a supporter of the All Stars Project, Inc. for 15 years and a key partner in BACIC's expansion of the All Stars Talent Show Network to the Bay Area. The benefit will also honor Eddy Lopez, Jr., for his outstanding volunteerism, and All Stars performer manager and Oakland grassroots community leader, Patricia Wright.
