The All Stars Talent Show Network is a hit in the Bronx!

Dance group at the Evander Childs H.S. show.

The 2005-06 fall/winter season's first All Stars Talent Show Network (ASTSN) show was held Saturday, December 3 at Evander Childs High School in the Bronx. Highlighted by energetic and creative dance, rap, step and vocal performances, the event also featured the presentation of a special Volunteer Achievement Award to long-time ASTSN adult volunteer, Denise Roberson, for her years of dedication to the ASTSN. Denise first became involved with the All Stars when her five-year-old son was a dancer in a talent show more than a decade ago. Since then, Denise has been faithfully volunteering at virtually every event, primarily in the box office.

Since so many young people auditioned for the Evander Childs ASTSN series, the talent show itself is being held in two parts.

The Spring ASTSN series begins in April with the audition and in May and June with the talent shows.

The ASTSN will also host its annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday at the All Stars 42nd Street center in January 2006. In preparation for the event, young members of the ASTSN, Youth Onstage! and the Development School for Youth are being asked to submit personal statements in the form of letters or poems written to Dr. King, expressing their dreams for the future. A highlight of the birthday commemoration/celebration will be live performances by the young people of their letters and poems.
