The Joseph A. Forgione Development School for Youth (DSY) Begins Second Decade of Developing Young Leaders in NYC

DSY workshop at Ernst & Young

The DSY, now entering its second decade, provides supplemental learning experiences and leadership training for youth between the ages of 16 and 21 in New York City.

The DSY’s leadership training is organized as a series of weekly workshops, led by senior executives who partner with the program, introducing students to the worlds of finance, culture, communications, and other leading industries. Students learn public speaking, how to dress for success, and how to write a resume. All of the students who graduate from the program are placed in paid summer internships provided by sponsoring companies.

To date, the DSY has sponsored 21 semesters comprised of 30 classes and 343 workshops (includes skill building and corporate visits). During that time, 675 students have been graduated; 560 students have received paid summer internships; 174 different companies have sponsored one or more aspects of the program, and more than 1500 business professionals have participated as Program Associates, mock interviewers, workshop leaders, internship sponsors and supervisors.

For more information or to get involved in the DSY, contact Kirsten Fulda at kfulda@allstars.org or 212-356-8423.
