The fall semester of the Development School for Youth (DSY) began on Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 12 with the first class meetings sponsored by CIBC World Markets. The new class of 54 students will soon be exposed to a host of business environments and will have the opportunity to hear from, and create conversations with, a number of business leaders.
On Wednesday, September 26, the new DSY class gathered for their fall 2007 Orientation ceremony, hosted by Credit Suisse. The event included remarks by several business leaders, as well as a keynote address by Kwame Anthony Appiah, Ph.D., a renowned professor of Philosophy at Princeton University.
Over the course of the semester, the students will participate in a lineup of workshops that includes past sponsors, as well as new additions: Barry Friedberg, FriedbergMilstein; Scott Hill, Partner, Ernst & Young; Jim Malkin, Chairman & CEO, SourceMedia; David Gordon, Managing Partner, Latham & Watkins; Gregory Tosko, Vice Chairman, CB Richard Ellis; and, Rich Ritholz, Elliott Management. The next fourteen weeks will go by quickly and the students will soon be celebrating their growth and development on Wednesday, December 12th when Merrill Lynch hosts the fall 2007 Graduation Ceremony – please save the date!
