The All Stars is wrapping up its $5 million renovation project to our national headquarters on West 42nd Street. In 2008, we will be unveiling our newly designed world class performing arts and education center. The new façade, inspired by the All Stars’ perspective that "everyone is an All Star" will be a three-dimensional, seventeen foot high star, that everyone who enters the building will pass through and the lobby will be transformed into an open theater where performances can be staged and viewed by passersby on the street.
We are planning a year-long series of Grand Opening celebrations to mark this important moment in our history. Pre-opening festivities will begin this January with Castillo Theatre and Woodie King's New Federal Theatre co-production of Satchel: A Requiem for Racism and the Castillo Theatre will be announcing a new season of cutting-edge theatre. Sprinkled throughout will be dozens of other special performances to celebrate the re-opening of our new center. We've created a special All Stars Passport for All Stars and Castillo Theatre supporters which will get you into our offerings.
The All Stars is seeking a name for the re-opening celebrations of our national headquarters on West 42nd Street that captures the heart and spirit of the All Stars and this important and exciting moment in our history.
For passport package information and the Grand Opening naming contest, please visit our website at www.allstars.org in January.
