Atlanta All Stars Are Reaching Out to More Young People

The Atlanta All Stars Talent Show Network is preparing for its next cycle, which will culminate with a show on June 21st at the College Park City Auditorium.  As we prepare for the show, we are running mini-performance workshops at community centers throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan area.  Events are taking place with programs like Teens at Work, Street Smart, the Bankhead Youth Recreation Center, and at the Conley Recreation Center in College Park.  The All Stars team has gone to these centers to conduct “Rappin’ Reality” workshops, open mics, and improvisation sessions, while signing up young people to join the Atlanta All Stars Network.

In other news, Atlanta All Stars was the recipient of a grant awarded by the Philanthropy Class of the Atlanta Girls School.  The young people in the class considered numerous local agencies for the award and gave first place to the All Stars.

Meanwhile, Atlanta All Stars Youth Coordinator Adrie Keaton is developing an All Stars youth performance troupe that meets weekly.  The troupe will perform at events around the city and will also function as a leadership team to help build the program.  Adrie is a director, performer, and passionate youth worker.  She performed as the emcee in the November 2008 Atlanta All Stars Talent Show.
