Mark Taylor of the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company leads young performers at the All Stars Project of New Jersey, All Stars Talent Show Network performance workshop.

At the All Stars Projct of New Jersey’s (ASP of NJ) April 26th Performance Workshop at Barringer High School in Newark, two dancers from the renowned Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company led a movement class for ASP of NJ, talent show performers.  The class culminated with a brief performance, in which the young people showed off a dance they learned based on body language. 

Two weeks later, at the ASP of NJ, Talent Show on May 10th, twenty-nine acts came out to sing, dance, rap, and step.  Most of the young people were performing in their very first talent show and excitement was high.  The Grand Prize winner (by one point!) was Newark’s own dance duo, The Clubbers.  Congratulations to them and to all the young people who performed!

The ASP of New Jersey will be coming to a community center or school near you this summer!  Look for us at our first ever Ironbound and East Orange one-day events.
